Friday Funday at Snohomish Valley Golf Center

By Melinda Larke April 1, 2021

It was supposed to be a beautiful day so I decided we needed to have fun outdoors.   The day turned out not to be as nice as I thought (thank you unpredictable PNW weather,) but it didn't rain and we still had a blast at the Snohomish Valley Golf Center.  The Snohomish Valley Golf Center is located in Snohomish off Hwy 9 and has a variety of  fun things to do for the whole family.    Year round they have a driving range, mini-golf course, and great food and drink that can be enjoyed on their wonderful patio.  In the winter they also have an ice skating rink .

We came to play on the mini-golf course and of course try some of their food and drink. When we first arrived, we were a little confused on where to pay.  You pay inside the main building at the same place where you order food and drink. Once we paid we were directed over to the golf clubs and balls to pick out a club and ball for each of us.  They had many different sizes of clubs for the whole family.  Then we walked over to the mini-golf course and waited to start our first hole.  The course was a little crowded, but we went along a a good pace.  The whole 18 holes took us about an hour.

The mini-golf course is a championship course which meant that it was a little harder than I expected it to be, and it meant that it was very hard for the  kids in our group.   That was something I was not expecting, but we rolled with the punches and still made it fun.   We didn't go into the game with the expectation that we would keep score, we were there just to have fun.  That took a lot of pressure off of some of the kids. We also told the kids that they had six tries to get the ball in and if they couldn't do it in six tries, we will just move on.    That also helped keep us moving so we didn't hold up the groups behind us.    And lastly, I let the kids  (and myself) cheat from time to time.

After we finished our golf game we headed over to the patio to have a little dinner and  enjoy the evening on the patio.  We really enjoyed the food and the adults enjoyed having  time to decompress and chat.  It was a great way to spend a Friday evening.  While the adults were eating and talking the kids  went over to  a grassy area set-up with cornhole and played.  It looked to me  like an evening at the driving range would be a great date night if you and your partner were into that sort of thing.   Or even a great  way to have some one on one fun with a special child in your life.

We will be going to a new destination for this week's Friday Funday.  Be sure to follow us on Instagram to see where we will be!
