Potty Like a Rockstar in Pampers Easy Ups + COUPON INSIDE!

10 Eastside moms, toddlers, and I sure did!

By Katrina Cameron, Your Eastside Publisher September 22, 2016
Potty training isn't always the easiest thing, just ask any parent!  Everyone has a different story with some experiences being quick and easy, and others long, drawn out and testing every ounce of patience a parent may have.  But it is in all those experiences Pampers wants to highlight and celebrate the milestone of little ones and their families moving from diapers to underwear, called "underwear training" with their new and improved  Pampers® Easy Ups™.

Pampers Easy Ups Training Underwear looks, fits and feels more like real underwear while providing the leak protection you want and expect from training pants.  They have a 360° stretchy waistband that your toddler can pull up and down with sides you can tear easily, if you need to.  They are soft like cotton underwear and are equipped with Pampers exclusive Extra Absorb Channels™ and Dual Leak-Guard Barriers to protect against leaks day or night and around the legs.  As a mom with a potty-curious toddler, these hit the spot for my family's needs!

To celebrate everyone's potty training journey, we invited some moms and their toddlers in our community to our Pampers Underwear Training Party.  It was as much for the toddlers as it was for the moms, who got expert tips while their toddlers participated in fun and beneficial games.

If your child is showing signs of readiness, here are some ways we shared to motivate and make potty training a positive experience.

ALWAYS: Praise your child and remain upbeat no matter the outcome.  During the party we had the kids take their turns practicing and getting comfortable with the idea of sitting on potty.  And when they did, the room was filled with claps and hoorays!

REWARD: Have a potty treat jar filled with goodies for those successful times on the potty.

REWARD: Put up a training chart somewhere visible.  When your toddler uses the potty, have them place a sticker on the chart so they can see their progress.  And you can even up the ante by motivating them with a bigger reward when they have one line or the full chart covered in stickers!

Its not uncommon for kids to be reluctant to try something new, so to make it more fun and indirect, we did some activities.

ACTIVITY: Potty Time for Bear Activity - Have your child's favorite stuffed animal sit on the potty, cheer, and then let your child put a Pampers Easy Up on bear and put a sticker on their chart.

ACTIVITY: Wet/Dry Science - What is wet and what is dry? Have your child feel different items in bucket (half dry, half wet) and tell you how they feel different.

BOOK: Reading your child a book about the potty is also a way to get them familiar and comfortable with the potty and the process. For the party, we gave each family a copy of The Underwear Book.

Potty training is surely an exciting journey, but remember to be patient, positive, and consistent.  However and whenever it happens, it is definitely something to be celebrated!
